Made an online order today around 11 and decided to try out this place. I just recently moved around near this location and decided why not They don't mess around with their crab fried rice I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT Great customer service as well and the taste and flavors of the food are authentic
We had to try this place out. It was close to our hotel and had good reviews. We decided to dine in and were not disappointed. The service was great. It's a small restaurant so it gets loud with all the cooking they are doing. The food came out super fast which was nice. The pad Thai was great. Not too sweet and plenty of crunch with the sprouts. Pineapple curry had the perfect amount of spice. Made my nose run a bit. Wish I lived close by so I could come back.
Really good thai food! We ordered it for pickup off Yelp but even on a Friday afternoon they were very busy and it took 45 min for pickup. The estimated time for pickup was correct though. It was slightly pricy but they gave a fair amount of food. My favorite was the Pad Kee Mao (spicy noodles) but you can't go wrong with anything here!
First time trying Bangkok Kitchen! I came on a Sunday around 4:00 PM and it was pretty empty since it was before dinner. I ordered Pad See Ew with chicken, which was $16.95. The dish was good, but I wouldn't come back often or make this a regular place. Most of their dishes are around $18, which is pricier than most places I've been to and it's just a standard portion size. On the plus side, they have the pickled green chilis, which are a staple for Thai dishes.
I was in the mood for Thai food and Bangkok Kitchen is walkable from my apartment so my boyfriend and I decided to try it. The Tom Kla soup, pad Thai and green bean appetizer did not disappoint. My favorite dish was the Tom Kla soup for its rich coconut and mushroom flavor. The restaurant had steady business on the Friday night we went, but we were able to get one of the few tables. I'll be back to try more menu items!
What I ordered: ** 8/10: Spicy Noodle (Pad Kee Mao) w/ Fried Tofu - $17.95 - lettuce was kind of weird but not bad at all - would maybe sub lettuce for broccoli next time! ** 8.5/10: Panang Curry w/ Pork - $17.95 - very flavorful and hit the spot!! - served with one bowl of rice - I would choose a different protein like beef or tofu next time 7.5/10: Fried Banana - $9.95 - served with condensed milk, no icecream :( - very tiny portion, could've been bigger! Bangkok Kitchen is truly a hidden gem, located 5 minutes off the 405 MacArthur Blvd exit. It is a very casual, family run restaurant perfect for weekday bites and takeout. Service and food were both great. I wish I could have found this place sooner! Food: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Total: 8/10
Parking is crazy in this shopping center during prime time, so heads up. Full service, sitdown restaurant. Casual atmosphere. They have a sign that says "please wait to be seated," but there was nobody there. After waiting awhile, we ended up seating ourselves and getting our own high chair for our kid. It took them a long time to realize they had customers, which was weird given it was nearly 5:30pm. Once we finally were served, they were fast and friendly. Wife and I tried lots: yum yum fries (spicy!), chicken dumplings, chicken-rice-broccoli dish, and beef pad thai. Grandma had the larb, so I can't comment on that. Everything I did try was great and plenty for three adults and a toddler. We even had some leftovers. Unfortunately, we were charged for somebody else's bill, so had to get the charge voided and then pay for the correct bill. All in just under $100 including tax and tip as of Feb 2024.
I had forgotten that I bookmarked BK a while ago, but received a notification on Yelp's "Tempting Thai food in Orange County". We happened to be in the area last night so we shared a Crab Fried Rice to put it to the test . BK's version was decent, it came with claw meat which has more flavor than lump crab. The one thing missing was the green mild spicy sauce like what they serve at Manaao in Tustin. I wouldn't mind coming back if I happen to be in the area again.
